Who Was He?
Cyrus the great was a Persian king. He is also known as one of the greatest conquerors of all time. He started the Achaemenid Dynasty, in which Cyrus created the first declaration of human rights that was published in the United Nation since 1971. Cyrus was the first Persian Empire. He created the largest empire the world has seen. Cyrus is famous for freeing the Jewish that were imprisoned in Babylonia and allowed them to return to their homeland. He was able to conquer many lands because he was very strategic and talented. He was also very accepting and let others follow their beliefs because he followed the path of Asha. Cyrus was a Zoroastrian; he believed humans are free, and Zoroastrian religion guided him to the truth and the Great Kingdom.

The Cyrus Cilinder
The Cyrus Cylinder or Cyrus Charter is an ancient clay cylinder, now broken into several pieces, on which is written a declaration in Akkadian cuneiform script in the name of Persia's Achaemenid king Cyrus the Great. It dates from the 6th century BC and was discovered in the ruins of Babylon in Mesopotamia in 1879.
