One day King Hooshang along with his companions decided to go to a mountain. On the way, he saw a big black snake. The king took a rock and throw it at the snake. The rock missed the snake and instead hit another rock which caused sparks to ignite (flint stones). Under the rocks, there were dried leaves, grass and twigs that made the sparks turn into flame. They discovered how to start a fire and more importantly how to control it. In honor of this great discovery, they built a big fire and called that day Sadeh. Later on, they built special places to keep the fire going. These places were called AtashKadeh (a place of fire). Now, people could go to AtashKadeh, get the fire and use it for cooking and other things. One of the other great advancement was taking the iron out of rocks with the help of fire. Blacksmith became one of the most important profession. Every year Sadeh is celebrated on January 30 by building a big fire.
